Tagging lessons

Step 3 of 10 in Tagging lessons

Sample data, read from content-sdk

Headings and the terms under them

Subjects holds a few hundred terms. Math, Science, and the other subjects sit at the top, each holding strands, and some strands hold terms of their own.

A subject at the top is a heading: it gathers the terms under it, but no lesson can be tagged with Math itself, only with a strand under it. Terms sit four levels down at most. To find one, a tool looks up what you type among the labels and their synonyms.

Try it: open Fractions, then Unit fractions, selecting each; then look up “Mathematics”, “matematicas” in Spanish, and “plants” in Spanish.

Ana tags Area of Rectangles with Math

Math is a heading, not a tag

Math holds the strands under it, but a lesson can't be tagged with it. Choose a strand, such as Geometry or Area.

What Ana would be told on tagging Area of Rectangles with the heading Math.

If you tried this

Tools match what you type the way content-sdk does. Capitals and extra spaces don't count, so “ fractions ” finds Fractions, and a synonym such as Mathematics finds Math. Accents do count, because Spanish tells papa (potato) from papá (dad). A term with no Spanish label yet, such as Plants, is found in Spanish by the English label Spanish shows.
