Step 1 of 9 in Building an outline

A curriculum and its outline
Ana has written Math's lessons, and each lesson's Teach Book and Exit Ticket. Before anyone can use them, someone has to put them in order: which level, which module, which topic, which lesson. That order is the curriculum's outline, and building it is a curriculum manager's work, like Ben's.
An outline is a tree of rows. content-sdk calls each row a point, and you'll hear that word: a point is a row in the outline. Some rows are units, such as Module 1 or Topic A, which hold other rows. Others place a resource, such as Lesson 1 Teach Book. Math itself isn't a row. It's the curriculum, and the outline belongs to it.
Try it: open Topic A, then select Lesson 1, then Lesson 1 Teach Book, and read where each one is placed.
Every row has a place: the unit it sits in, or the top of the outline, and where it comes among the rows beside it. The detail panel writes that place as a path, from Math down to the row's unit. When you build an outline, a place is what you choose for each row. What a row shows comes from somewhere else, as the next step explains.
